Job Requirements:
College degree preferred. Paralegal certificate. Knowledge of federal and state fair housing laws, and California landlord/tenant laws. Knowledge of alternative dispute resolution and mediation principles. Have the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team. Excellent writing skills.
Job duties:
Conduct intakes involving fair housing allegations by clients seeking assistance with fair housing complaints. Assist with the preparation of fair housing cases. Conduct intakes in landlord/tenant matters. Provide information, mediation, and referrals in landlord/tenant matters.
Maintain complete and accurate records of all activities related to various job duties and assignments and produce reports on such activities as may be required by IFHMB. Conduct fair housing trainings and represent the agency at events, as assigned. Demonstrate a proven ability to work within a structured organizational setting. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, work is temporarily being conducted remotely. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred. HUD Certified Housing Counselor preferred. Valid driver’s license required. IFHMB is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
